The purpose of the dermal filler was to soften the lines that softly waterfall down the sides of the cheeks from the corners of the eyes. A muscle relaxant around the eyes will only soften the lines close to the eyes.
The reason that the muscle relaxant won't remove the lines on their own is because the muscle stops a few centimetres from the eye. Any muscle relaxant administered further down the cheek would cause the mouth muscles to stop lifting giving the impression of a facial droop/palsy. Therefore the only solution left was to fill the areas of lost volume.
